My name is Jared Maltba and I am the founder and owner of Valley Piano Tuning. In order to become an expert in all things pianos, I completed an elite master course for piano tuning, repair and cleaning. This course gave me the boost I needed to become an expert in all things pianos and in all piano models. Since my start, I have helped hundreds of people find the joy that comes from the music that only a finely tuned piano can provide.

Renner Academy is a highly prestigious academy led by distinguished instructors that have acted as concert technicians, piano manufacturers for some of the largest piano companies and seminar instructors for some of the largest audiences in the country. The certification for this academy shows a high level of mastership among all piano manufacturers as well as piano tuners.

Have you always wanted that your piano could play itself? Luckily for you, here at Valley Piano Tuning, we are compliant with installing QRS self-playing systems. This means you can enjoy the songs of your piano even if you have to walk away from your keys. My Story

Professional

I began tuning pianos as a freshman at BYU back in 2017. It all started simply as a means to get through school, but I quickly fell in love with the work. After I graduated from BYU in April 2020, I decided to shift my focus solely to pianos rather than my field of study. I gained training from Jim Busby, Keith Kopp, and Brigham Larson, all of which are prominent technicians in the field of piano technology. I also joined the Piano Technicians Guild (PTG), passed a series of rigorous exams, and achieved the status of Registered Piano Technician in 2021.

To further my experience and knowledge base, in October 2023, I attended the Renner Academy, an intensive course on grand piano action rebuilding taught by world class technicians.

All of these classes, certifications and rigorous trainings have helped to build up my expertise and allow me to help all of my customers. I have a profound respect for the art and science of the piano. It brings me immense pleasure to transform a piano from being unplayable to bringing joy to those who play and listen to it. Most recently, I became a certified QRS installer. QRS is the maker of the best and most versatile player piano systems. Player systems are almost invisible and give owners access to thousands of songs. These players can be enjoyed by anyone whether you play the piano or not and are good for providing background music during meals, parties, sing-alongs or anytime you wish. Personal

Back in 2017, I met my wife and quickly realized how special she was and couldn’t help but smile anytime I heard her name. We were married in 2018 and now have four beautiful, very energetic, and delightful children. My passions include my family, my faith and pianos.

I was born and raised in western North Carolina. When I was eight years old, I begged my parents to put me into piano lessons. After I began studying Communication Disorders (Speech Pathology) at BYU. In April 2020, I graduated from BYU, but I found that I simply could not take myself away from pianos. Therefore, I pursued a career servicing pianos instead of doing speech pathology.
